Rental Terms and Conditions
Booking and Payment
- A non-refundable 50% deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your reservation.
- The remaining 50% balance is due by May 1, 2027.
- A 20% late fee will be applied to any balance not paid by May 1, 2027.
- Failure to pay the balance by the due date may result in cancellation of your reservation without refund.
Cancellation and Refunds
- The initial 50% deposit is non-refundable at any time.
- The second 50% payment is refundable if cancellation occurs before May 1, 2027. After May 1, 2027, no refunds will be issued for this payment.
- Claims for refunds for cancellations due to unforeseeable events including an act of God, war, riot, fire, death, disability, or pandemic are limited to the amount paid for the service and may be issued at the sole and absolute discretion of Yukon Race Fleet. The 50% non-refundable deposit will not be refunded for cancellation under this provision.
Security Deposit
- Yukon Race Fleet Ltd requires a credit card deposit as security for renting any equipment.
- The security deposit will be held until the equipment is returned and inspected.
Equipment Responsibility
- Customers are fully responsible for all rented equipment from the time of pick-up until return.
- Any damage to canoes, kayaks, or accessories beyond normal wear and tear is the financial responsibility of the hirer.
- Fair wear and tear is limited to a small scratch in the gel coat. Any damage beyond this is considered excessive and will be charged to the hirer.
- Customers are responsible for loss or damage to rental equipment if it exceeds normal wear and tear, up to the replacement value of the equipment.
- Hirers will be charged for repair or replacement costs for damaged or lost equipment.
Transportation
- All transportation of boats in Alaska and Yukon is the responsibility of Yukon Race Fleet Ltd.
Insurance
- We strongly recommend that customers properly insure themselves for the activities.
- Recommended insurance includes travel, theft, luggage, rescue, and transportation insurance.
- Yukon Race Fleet Ltd is not responsible for any losses or injuries that may occur during the rental period.
Safety and Usage
- By accepting these terms & conditions, customers are agreeing that they have the ability and skill to paddle the river.
- All customers must wear properly fitted personal flotation devices (PFDs) at all times while on the water.
- Customers must comply with all local boating regulations and safety guidelines.
- Equipment must only be used for its intended purpose and in suitable conditions.
Late Returns
- Equipment must be returned by the agreed-upon time on the return date.
- Late returns will incur additional daily rental charges.
Liability Waiver
- Customers must sign a liability waiver before departure, acknowledging the inherent risks of water activities.
- Yukon Race Fleet is not responsible for accidents, injuries, or loss of personal property.
Age Requirements
- Customers must be at least 18 years old to rent equipment.
- Minors must be accompanied by an adult and have signed parental consent.
Weather and Water Conditions
- Yukon Race Fleet reserves the right to cancel or postpone rentals due to unsafe weather or water conditions.
- No refunds will be given for rentals shortened due to inclement weather once the rental period has begun.
Prohibited Activities
- No alcohol or drug use is permitted while using rental equipment.
- Equipment must not be used in whitewater conditions beyond the customer’s skill level.
Cleaning and Return Condition
- Equipment must be returned clean inside and out and in the same condition as it was received.
- Additional cleaning fees may apply if equipment is returned excessively dirty.
Jurisdiction
- Any legal disputes arising from this agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Yukon.
By making a reservation, you agree to abide by these terms and conditions. Failure to comply may result in the termination of your rental without refund.
